Matthew Hoffman Heart of a Champion

Matthew Hoffman

To see Matthew Hoffman on stage at the Seven Feathers Classic, is a miracle in itself. Never before has a competitor on stage touched my heart the way that Matthew did. You see Matthew was involved in a car accident, his life turned upside down, a parapalegic, in a coma and fighting for his life. But there he stood, quarter turns, mandatory poses, and a night show posing routine that I'm certain left many a teary eye in the audience. Especially when Ron and Susan Smith, the promoters of the Seven Feather Classic presented Matthew with a Special Recognition award and told his story.

During the award presentation, a poem, written by Matthew, was read. It's beautiful and I wanted to share it with everyone I could. (Matthew, I hope you don't mind).

Matthew, thank you for the inspiration. Thank you for taking a picture with me, it was truly my pleasure. And mostly, THANK YOU for showing me the true heart of a champion, I would be honored to share the stage with you anyday.

Body Building is an Art

By Matthew Hoffman

Body Building is an art It is just like a sculptor using a sloppy piece of clay to form a magnificent piece of art...muscles symmetry, three poses putting them all together to form a magnificent masterpiece.

I am just like a sculptor forming my own piece of clay. Time and time again... I need not to say, maybe tomorrow. Commitment..Dedication, no matter what people say or think.

I raise my eyebrows to those who have judged me by my disability! From quadripelgic to.. paraplegic, weighing 99.5 lbs to a 188 lb Bodybuilder.

In other words, what was once a sloppy piece of clay is now forming into a magnificent masterpiece.

I hope you can understand my synonyms of body building. If so, your ability to succeed is a goal that’s visible. A visible goal is my art work of life!
